We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this role provides critical support to day-to-day HR operations and contributes to ensuring smooth and efficient processes across onboarding, recordkeeping, compliance, and general HR services. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and committed to delivering an excellent employee experience while providing direct administrative and operational support to the Director of HR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with talent acquisition efforts by sourcing candidates through HR systems (such Paylocity) and managing applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Coordinate employee orientation programs to ensure new hires are welcomed and integrated effectively.
  • Support employee evaluation processes by gathering data, preparing documentation, and facilitating performance review activities.
  • Manage benefits administration tasks, including enrollment, changes, and answering employee inquiries related to benefits packages.
  • Maintain accurate HR records using HRIS platforms and perform data entry to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to project management initiatives related to workforce management, succession planning, and organizational design.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity while communicating clearly across departments.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience in human resources management or an HR department role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA regulations, OSHA standards, and HR legal compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel for data analysis), HR systems, and payroll processing tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage conflict effectively and foster positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information sensitively while supporting HR sourcing and recruitment efforts.
  • Experience with HR legal compliance management, benefits administration, and personnel administration is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change management initiatives and contribute strategically to workforce planning.
