Logistics Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Specialist to join our team in central Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our supply chain operations and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective logistics management.
Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day operational orders from our IDC in USA and Imports orders arriving in Canada
  • Inventory reconciliation with the external warehouse in Canada
  • Responsible for day-to-day operational relationships with various third-party providers, including the warehouse service provider and the management logistics service provider.
  • Responsible for inbound receiving and SAP inventory transactions to guarantee stock available in accordance with the proper process and procedure administration.

Key areas of accountability and responsibility:

  • SHE & Security Management: The Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing the required SHE leadership to secure that all operations in this area of responsibility adhere to the DSM standards in terms of SHE and specifically the DSM life Saving Rules.

The Logistic Specialist is required to:

  • Acts in such a way that safety awareness & accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
  • Be aware of and follow all DSM Life Saving Rules.
  • Be responsible for working in a SHE responsible manner and to report all SHE incidents.
  • Show leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.
  • Work closely together with the site’s SHE and Security Manager/Regional Transport & Warehouse Safety Provider.

Responsible for the Performance Indicators regarding the Logistics Service Provider and 3rd party warehouse providers.

  • Responsible for day-to-day operational and issue resolution.
  • Participates in the recurring (monthly or quarterly) Performance Indicators process that is inplace to ensuree that services are delivered as per contract and service level agreement.
  • Secures that relevant KPIs are measured and reported correctly.

Operational Transport Management

  • Coordinates the distribution and transportation outbound from the warehouses and locations scope for this role by working closely with the 3rd party Transportation Management Provider.

Quality

  • Ensure that warehouse facilities and operations meet Food-grade GMP standards
  • Support site and/or warehouse certification or customer audits.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any audit findings.
  • Support the root cause investigation of any customer or internal complaint where it concerns possible issues related to warehousing or transportation from the in-scope warehouses; where required, the 3rd parties who manage the warehousing and transportation are to be involved.

Support the Logistic resource from USA on following up the orders from different origins to Canada.

Follow up with Brokers on the arrival of orders delivering to Canada until confirmed in our external or internal warehouse.

Support and be backup of the Master Data Resource for Logistics issues.
